For over 24 years Reid Packaging was a family business and even if the business is no longer in the family, the family is still in the business.

Peter Reid was in the corrugated box industry in his native England from 1960 to 1970 when he was transferred to Canada as General Manager of the new Tri-Wall Containers, Inc. start up. In 1976 he moved to Atlanta as Sales Manager for the 11 state Mid-Atlantic and Southern Region. In 1982 Peter left Tri-Wall and founded Reid Packaging, Inc. where he could use his extensive knowledge of the packaging industry to build his own business. Initially a distribution company focused on industrial packaging materials he soon expanded into a manufacturer of both wood and corrugated containers. With the addition of protective packaging such as foam cushioning, barrier bags and wraps the early priority was to provide total packaging solutions for military and industrial applications. Reid eventually developed on-site packaging capabilities and certified ISPM-15 export crating.

In 1984 Peter was joined by his son Bill Reid and the two built the business together until Peter's retirement in 2007. At that time the business was purchased by Atlanta Industrial Packaging, Inc. doing business as Reid Packaging and Peter and Bill left to enjoy some well deserved time off. While Peter continues to enjoy his retirement, we are very happy Bill returned to the business late in 2008 and maintains the history and family connection.

Today Reid Packaging is a manufacturer of wood crates and corrugated boxes including wooden crates, wooden bases, wooden boxes, & pallets. Other products include heavy-duty triple-wall corrugated containers, single wall & double wall corrugated boxes, foam cushioning products, static control products, barrier bags, bar code labels, & custom designed aerospace containers. Services include military packaging, protective packaging, die cutting, barrier bag vacuum packaging, on-site crating, & export crating. We provide JIT delivery to many of our regular customers.

From the very large to the very small, we have expertise in the design, testing and production of complete packs for delicate and expensive equipment and machinery. Our design team totals over 35 years experience in the packaging industry and includes two certified military packaging specialists. We offer both in-house and on-site packing & crating services complying with export wood packaging ISPM-15 regulations; container loading & bracing; full design & consulting capability.
